It’s easy to assume that more toys will keep your child entertained for longer, be more fun and provide more learning opportunities for your child. But that’s not the case!
Having fewer toys is actually better for your little one in many ways.
Fewer toys can lead them playing for longer periods of time, improve creativity, and also help with the development of social skills.
Here’s how to manage your baby’s toys effectively to get all of the benefits, without buying more toys.

I hope this video was helpful! Let me know what’s your baby’s favourite toy? At the moment our little one’s favourite toy are the shapes from the shape sorter and the Tupperware draw 😂
Really helpful, thank you – is it the same for books? We moved our 11mo’s books to the bottom shelf so he could reach & pick them, but he just pulls them all out or will quickly lose interest in one book to pull out another. Should they also be out of sight?
Can’t wait to show this to my wife 😂
My son is almost 2 y.o. I am guilty of buying too many toys. But I use the shuffle/rotation method. He gets to play with a mew toy every 3/4 days. I keep minimum of 2 toys for satisfying different needs(2 puzzles, 2-4 vehicle toys, 4-5 stuffies/soft toys(he really loves to gather them all on the couch and make them eat/sleep), 2/3 books, 2/3 bath toys).
It works for us…that way I get to buy new stuff for him(which I love😅) and he gets to play with new toys every few days.
Also we buy very good quality toys and mostly all of them are still intact.
When he grows out of some toys, I carefully and discreetly pack them all away so we can use them for our other kid in future.
At 3 months old, my baby’s favorite toy is a crinkly 3 page soft book! She loves to look at it, read it together, play with the pages, and eat it of course. 😅
