Now that you know HOW to feed your newborn a bottle using paced bottle feeding it’s time to choose a bottle to feed them milk or formula from. And if you’ve been to your local baby store you will know that there are SO MANY CHOICES when it comes to infant feeding and newborn care.
I’m going to review TEN different baby bottles that are currently on the market in 2024 and discussing which of them I think are a great choice for from a lactation perspective and which of them I would save my money and pass on.
As a reminder you want to do the TRIANGLE test when you are looking into a bottle because that baby bottle will have a round tip, a gradual slope and a wide base! And that’s the shape of bottle for your newborn that will encourage them to properly use those feeding muscles of their mouth and jaw AND to be able to go back and fourth easier if you are breastfeeding without sacrificing your latch you’ve worked so hard on. And these bottles arent just good for breast fed babies….babies who never latch still need those same muscles for speech and eating!
Brands we will talk about:
2:55 – Tommee Tippee
4:10 – MAM
5:40 – NUK
6:55 – Lansinoh
7:40 – Como Tomo
8:35 – Dr. Browns
9:19 – Evenflo Balance Plus Wide
9:58 – Pigeon
10:21 – Philips Avent Naturals
11:56 – Emulait
I’ll also show you how you can get a glass bottle for one of my favorite bottles if they are out of stock and all you can get your hands on is the plastic version!

Which bottle would be best for a baby with a high pallet and potential upper lip tie? 🙂
They not gonna go back to your breast if you only do formula
I am so glad K found this video. I came back to say this. I found this vid prior to my son coming home (came to me at 5 weeks) and at four weeks his (bio) dad told me he was eating 5oz every couple hours. I was perplexed that the baby’s stomach count fit that, especially given that the child had just been released from the NICU due to NOWS.
The first feeding no milk was consumed by the baby, it was flowing out of both sides.
Because of this video I bought 2oz Lansinoh and 2 Evenflow balance plus wi:3x I busted out that XS flow Lansinoah, flipped his lip up and boom perfect latch. We are now Evenflow balance plus wide and Lansinoah when we are out of Evenflow’
Thanks!!!!!
I haven’t been this pissed looking up bottle recommendations at 3am in the morning after these stupid multi-million dollar companies can’t make a half decent nipple on their bottles. Thank you.
Wish I saw this weeks ago. Tried Timmy, Philips Avent and Mam and now trying Lasinoh and it’s like there’s a miracle cause my 4 month old toom the Lasinoh on the first try without a problem. Would have saved me headache and calls with daycare asking me to come cause she’s not eating 😢
Also, tip for other moms: the Mam glass bottles can take the nipple from Lansinoh. If you can’t find the glass Lansinoh, you can get the Mam bottles instead which are for sale everywhere, and get only the Lansinoh nipples .
